Having always loved art in school, I finally took my first watercolor class in 1988 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Then, after raising 2 children and working in the school system, I once again started taking art classes.
I studied art and design at St. Petersburg College, attended classes at Dunedin Fine Art Center, and workshops in Costa Rica and Santa Fe, NM.
I was introduced to Tex-Mex art in San Antonio, TX for a couple years, and now, back in Florida, I have a studio at Stirling Art Studios in downtown Dunedin using mostly acrylics and collage.
My work has been displayed at the Leepa Rattner Museum of Art Artist’s Market, the “Inspire’s on Fire” art show at the Witte museum in San Antonio, and at the Dunedin Fine Art Center. I have received 1st, 3rd, and Honorable Mention awards at various shows in the area
I like to experiment with textures, color, design, findings, and depicting a thought or feeling in my art. I draw my inspiration from nature; in the never ending repeating patterns and designs. As we all perceive things differently, I like my works to be read with the viewer’s experiences in mind, becoming something that speaks to them personally.
I belong to the Creatvie Artist’s Guild in Dunedin, the Tarpons Springs Art Association, and the Crystal Beach Art Guild. I am a member of the Dunedin Fine Art Center and the Leepa Rattner Museum of Art.
