|Janice Ritter Kadushin studied at the Art Students League in New York City under watercolorist Mario Cooper. She has been a Life Member of the League for over thirty years. While trained in New York City, Janice truly found her artistic voice in Florida. The vivid colors of sunsets and ocean waters are influences on her work. Additionally, works of literature often inspire her imagery. She aims to elicit an emotional response for the viewer by combining the visual and literary arts, painting things as she thinks them not as she sees them. Janice pushes colors to their fullest potential and enjoys the spontaneity of water- based mediums, juxtaposing them with the precision and delicacy of pen and ink.
Mid-career, Janice took a hiatus from painting to devote herself to her family – her husband Marc and two sons, Jason and Peter – as well as concentrating on her career in private banking. Upon retiring from banking and after surviving a serious health issue, she felt compelled to pick up her brushes and return to her passion. Her work has been shown in New York City as well as in private and corporate collections. Janice is a member of the Collections Committee of the Leepa Rattner Museum of Art.
