Elaine is an accomplished Artist in several fields of painting, including oils, pastels, watercolors and Chinese Brush Painting. She specializes in Chinese Brush Painting in both the traditional and modern Chinese styles while incorporating western attributes into some of her work. Elaine studied Drawing and Watercolors with Professor Ron Lent; Oils with Dr. Floyd Torbert and Joan Fisket in New Jersey before coming to Florida 1986; and Chinese Brush Painting under Susie Chang, Dr. Ning Yeh, Michiko Matthews, Professor I-Hsiung Ju, Sabrina Poon and Ming Fia in Florida.
Elaine has won numerous awards and ribbons for her paintings in all the media she works in. Her painting of Hibiscus was featured on the cover of the American Artists of Chinese Brush Painting Magazine.
She was a member and former Chairman of the Council of Fine Art Organizations, former Member of the Board of Directors of the Palm Harbor Arts Center, member and past Director of the Creative Artists Guild, instructor at the Dunedin Art Center, past President of the Fu Sang Artists Guild and Member of Tarpon Springs Art Association.
Elaine has lectured and demonstrated Chinese Brush Painting for the Humanities class at St. Petersburg College at both their Clearwater and Tarpon Springs locations and has given workshops and demonstrations for the Creative Artists Guild, Fu Sang and a number of local art appreciation groups. Elaine gives both private and group lessons in Chinese Brush Painting, Oils, and Silk Dyeing.
